Men are sperm producing machines knocking out an army of the little things every second while women never seem to keen on the stuff even though it’s incredibly good for them. Here are the top 10 ‘did you know’ facts on sperm…
- An average man producers 1500 sperm per second per testicle
- A sperm waggles it’s tail 800 times for every cm it moves forward.
- 40-600million sperm are released during every ejaculation depending how long it was since the last one
- The taste of semen is affected by what a man eats:
fruit and sugary foods will make it taste sweeter.
Red meat and dairy products will make it taste bitter
- A tea spoon of semen only contains 5-25 calories so not very fattening if you swallow.

- Women who swallow sperm before getting pregnant are less at risk of complications during pregnancy. This is because the women’s immune system will recognises the sperm cells decreasing the chance her body will fight the foreign bodies that have just fertilised her egg.
- Oysters and celery can help increase sperm production
- The average speed on an ejaculation is 31mph
- The average male ejaculates 7-10 inches.
- Sperm can live on a toilet seat for up to 3 hours and inside a woman for up to 5 days

I like how it seems to imply a toilet seat is some kind of reasonable substitute for a woman

This is bull. Sperm CAN’T LIVE on a toilet for three hours. They die relatively quickly. They can live for around one hour outside the body and up to six in the vagina.

You know he was talking to the person “Me” as represented by the @Me, he probably just posted that the second he read that comment and didn’t see the next guy until afterwards.

    SCIENCEFREAK :
Actuly sperm die when hit by oxigen so in 2 to 3 seconds if out side the body

While it is true sperm die when they hit oxygen, they are in a liquid, and that protects them, although some may still die if they are on the outermost edges of it. The reason sperm die on say a toilet seat relatively quickly is that the liquid protecting them dries up and they are then exposed to the air and die. It lasts a lot longer in a women’s vagina due to it being moist, they simply die of lack of energy after a certain amount of time and the immune system attacking them (although this is more rare). Sperm only have enough energy to last so long, once they use it up they’re gone.

I don’t see how the immune system one is supposed to work. Wouldn’t they get digested before the immune system has a chance to recognize them?
