Tbf, it’s pretty clever of these researchers to get people to do their surveys this way.

@onion : yeah, until people start catching on. I’ve gotten to the point where if it says “click here to see” after I like it, I click on the wall tab and hit “unlike” and leave it be.

it auto-shared this crap on my friend’s facebook. meaning, she didn’t do it, or even visit the page, but it somehow managed to “share” it and post to all of her friends’ feeds. any idea how? should she be concerned?…

i usually just copy and paste the title onto google and see what it is on sites like this. without the hassle of ‘like’ing or doing surveys. there are always people who, like me, think that both the content of the groups are stupid and that forcing people to like their groups shows extreme desperation for attention, and would try to spoil their fun by posting the content on sites that you can find through google.

You guys are all idiots. This is an ingenious bug created for viral advertising to capitalize on Facebook’s share and like buttons by hiding them behind colored boxes. This fan “survey” page generated 45,000 likes in less than 4 hours; if a business owner with a fan page had the share button linked to the fan “survey” page and had the like button linked to his business fan page. Holy shit, that’s 45,000 fans in a snap over what would’ve taken months and thousands of dollars to generate. From there all his news feeds would be free advertising to this tremendous fan base.
