Facebook Fan Page: DID YOU SEE THE 10 STUPID MISTAKES ON INCEPTION?

1. When the cab gets hit the first time the front grille with the Hyundai logo gets smashed in and disappears. In the second scene the grille reappears and the car has less damage than the scene before. And in the warehouse scene the grille disappears one final time.

2. In the scene with the falling van you see Arthur asleep without the headphones originally placed on his head. Before the van falls in the water they show Arthur again wearing the headphones.

3. In the scene where Yusuf is introduced, a gray cat is seen investigating a large jar behind him. In subsequent shots the cat both disappears and reappears.

4. One car explosion shown twice. First is the shot of the car exploding in a fireball, filling the frame. Minutes later the same car is shown exploding in the same fireball, but as part of a bigger shot from further away, in the bottom half of the frame.

5. Once Saito has been shot during the first level of Robert Fischer JR’s dream, he is placed on a surface whilst Cobb talks to him, Saito has a gape in his shirt which reveals the sticky tape and part of his blood pack on his chest, for his bullet wound.

6. When the white van leaves the warehouse, the door is so narrow that the right mirror on the passenger side of the van hits the door and is pushed back. In the next scene, it is out again.

7. When the helicopter lands after picking up Cobb and Arthur, it is still in Japan. The backdrop where Saito tempts Cobb though, is the Terminal Building at Farnborough Airfield, England, UK.

8. The immigration form Cobb is given in the plane towards the end of the movie is the white I-94 form given to those coming to the US on a visa. US citizens need only fill out a smaller blue customs declaration form.

9. When Cobb and Robert are in the hotel bathroom (2nd level) Cobb kills two men. The very next scene that shows Cobb and Robert in the bathroom the dead men’s bodies have disappeared.

10. When Fischer’s cab is being hijacked, numerous production markings are visible on the street.

YOu have too much useless time on your hands. #7 is stupid, I live in the US so I would never have guessed it. Sometimes you can’t overcome them on the set and have to roll with it. Every movie has mistakes and sometimes they are corrected and reshot and sometimes they aren’t, Rocky had them, Glory and Young Guns to name a few. As a filmmaker I’ve made some. So get off your high horse of perfection and just enjoy the movie and don’t ruin it for the rest of us. use your time more productively and positively. take the log out of your own eye before pointing at the speck in another’s eye.

A big mistake that isn’t on here: when they are fighting in the hallway (in the 2nd dream) and the car in the first dream swerves, the hallway also changes straight away, when technically it should be delayed because 1 second= 3minutes or whatever it is.

    Thank you for this post.

It’s tiny details like these that differentiate nicely done movies from everlasting ones, and good director from great ones.
Inception is a nice movie and that’s about it. We’ve seen movies with a simpler concept executed with such perfection one can watch it over and over again.

And honestly, I find it funny when people are amazed by its cg effects, there are music videos with way better effects. nothing we haven’t seen before.

Most are mess ups with the production itself. Like the squibs being shown and breaks in continuity. In the movie they make sense as it’s a dream, but I highly doubt they would be “planned”.

You’re an idiot if you think trolls are supposed to think. Where did this rampant ignorance nowadays about what trolls are come from?

since you all have so much time to argue, why don’t you all spent the time finding out how to make a perfect movie instead of arguing about other people’s work. Each person has his/her flaws, you just have to make a better movie with less mistakes.

Btw, if a director really wants to make no mistake, he will really watch it again and again to try to find out the mistakes. It is the difference between a really good director and those that only focus on making money.

some of these are just continuity errors, which happen in every film; its impossible to keep track of every detail in every frame. yes, they’re mistakes, but they’re not “stupid” mistakes.
