The Photographer is Kevin Carter. Look it up, he didn’t commit suicide 3 days after taking that pic. He did however commit suicide the following year only because his life was a mess and all the bullshit he’s seen.

This pic was published in the NYT 3/26/93. Kevin Carter won a Pulitzer for it. I scanned the first digital copy way back in April 1994, titled “GODSLIVE.GIF” and published it as accredited on FIDOnet, where it then went viral and eventually ending up in the UseNet group alt.tasteless.
